In an email conversation, ROX mentioned something about wanting a background with a clock and it seemed like an interesting thing to do. The circuit background is inspired by that idea (as well, perhaps, as by April Fools day.) When you want to build a clock display you need a circuit diagram, of course, but for e17 there is no need to get out the wire and all those costly components.
